ITINERARY
DAY 1: TEL AVIV-JERUSALEM
Depart for UK airport to Tel Aviv airport. Transfer to Jerusalem for an overnight stay.
DAY2: JERUSALEM-NEW CITY
Visit the Mt of Olives for a panoramic view of Jerusalem. Continue to the garden of Gethsemane and the Church of Agony. Visit the Israel’s museum Shrine of the Book with the famous Dead Sea Scrolls, and then continue to the renovated model of the Herodian city of Jerusalem. Visit the birthplace of John the Baptist, the picturesque village of Ein Kareem via Yad Vashem, the official memorial of the 6 million Jews killed in the Holocaust. Overnight in Jerusalem.
DAY 3: JERUSALEM-OLD CITY-BETHLEHEM
Visit the Western Wall, the holiest site in Judaism, and one of the original walls that retained the Temple. Walk along via the Dolorosa and the stations of the cross ending at the Church of the Holy Sepulcher. Afternoon drive to Mt Zion to visit the Tomb of King David, the room of the Last Supper and Domition Abbey, proceed to Bethlehem to visit the Church of Nativity. Overnight in Jerusalem.
DAY 4: JERUSALEM-BEIT SHEAN-NAZARETH-GALILEE
Drive North to Jerico, the oldest city in the world, through the Jordan Valley and the new settlements to Beit Shean. Visit the excavations of this preserved Roman City. Proceed to Nazareth, via the Church of Annunciation, Mary’s Well and Carpentry workshop of Joseph. Visit Safed, city of Kabbalah, for a walk through the mystery alley and the artists’ colony. Overnight in a Kibbutz hotel.
DAY 5: GALILEE-GOLAN HEIGHTS-GALILEE
Drive to Golan Heights. Visit the former Syrian fortifications and the Druze villages. Enjoy Israeli wine country experience in the local vineyards with exceptional views. Take a wine tour sampling fine local wines. Visit Manias, source of the Jordan River and the shores of the Sea of Galilee and Capernaum. Visit the ruins of the ancient synagogue and Peter’s house. Visit Tabgha, where the miracle of the fish and the bread took place. continue to the Tiberious for a short tour of the Old Centre of the Jewish learning. Optional sailing trip across the Sea of Galilee to experience the tranquility and scenery that has changed a little in over 2000 years. overnight in Kibbutz hotel.
DAY 6: ACRE-HAIFA-CAESAREA-TEL AVIV
Drive west to Acre for a visit of Crusader Stronghold and medial fortifications. Continue to Haifa, sightseeing tour including the Bah’iShrine, Persian Garden and Mt Carmel for a panoramic view of the city. Proceed to the south to Caesarea to visit the Roman Theatre and the Crusader fortress. Continue to Tel Aviv via Jaffa for a short city tour. Overnight in Tel Aviv.
DAY 7: TEL AVIV
Day at leisure in Tel Aviv, or an optional tour to the Dead Sea. Overnight in Tel Aviv.
DAY 8: TEL AVIV
Transfer to Tel Aviv airport for your return flight to the UK
