DAY 1: TEL AVIV
Depart from UK airport to Tel Aviv. Overnight stay in Tel Aviv.
DAY 2: TEL AVIV- BEER SHEBA-MASADA-DEAD SEA
Drive to Beer Sheba via Ashdod and Ashkelon enroute to Beer Sheba for a short visit to the Negev Capital. Continue via Arad to Masada. Ascend by cable car to the fortress, the last stronghold of the Jewish Zealots in their war against the Romans. Explore the excavations, Kings Herod’s Palace, the Synagogue, the bath house and enjoy the views of the Roman camps and the Dead Sea. Possible float in the Dead Sea, the lowest place on earth. Overnight stay in Jerusalem.
DAY 3: JERUSALEM
Enjoy the panoramic views of Jerusalem from the top of Mt of Olives. Continue to the garden of Gethsemane and the Church of Agony. On to the Israel’s museum’s Shrine of the Book with the famous Dead Sea scrolls, then to the renovated model of the Herodian city of Jerusalem. Drive to Yad Vashem, the memorial to the 6 million Jews killed in the Holocaust and then to the picturesque village of Ein Karem (birthplace of John the Baptist) to experience the largest open market in Israel. Overnight stay in Jerusalem.
DAY 4: JERUSALEM-OLD CITY-BETHLEHEM
Visit the Western wall though one of the gates of walled Old City, and experience the renewed Jewish Quarter, Temple area and colourful bazaars. Walk along the Via Dolorosa and the Stations of the Cross ending at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. Afternoon drive to Mt Zion to visit the tomb of King David and then to Bethlehem to visit the Church of Nativity. Overnight stay in Jerusalem.
DAY 5: BEIT SHEAN-TIBERIUS-GALILEE
Depart Jerusalem passing through Jericho, the oldest city in the world. Travel through the Jordan Valley to Beit Shein to visit the excavations of this beautifully preserved Roman City. Proceed to Nazareth to visit the Church of Annunciation and the carpentry workshop of Joseph. Proceed to Safed, city of Kabbalah, for a walk through the mystic alleys, a visit to a synagogue and the artist’s colony. Overnight in Kibbutz hotel.
DAY 6: UPPER GALILEE-GOLAN HEIGHT-NAZARETH
Drive to the Golan Heights, visit the former Syrian Fortifications and Druze villages via Banias, the source of Jordan River. Enjoy a tour of Israeli wine country, with vineyards surrounded by breath-taking views and wine tasting. Descending to the shores of the Sea of Galilee, visit the Mount of Beatitudes and the ruins of the ancient synagogue and Peter’s house at Capernaum. Visit Tabgha, where the miracle of the fish and bread took place. Continue to Tiberius for a short tour of the old centre of Jewish leaning. Optional sailing in the boat across the Sea of Galilee to experience the tranquillity and the scenery which has not changed much over the last 2000 years. Overnight stay in Kibbutz Hotel.
DAY 7: ACRE-HAIFA-CAESAREA-TEL AVIV
Head west to Acre for a visit of the old famous crusader stronghold and medial fortifications. Cary on to Haifa for a sight seeing tour including the Baha ‘Shrine, Persian Garden and Mt Carmel for a view of the City and bay. Continue along the coast to Caesarea to visit the Roman Theatre and the Crusader fortress. Complete your day with a short city tour of Tel Aviv and Jaffa. Overnight stay in Tel Aviv.
DAY 8: RETURN FLIGHT
Transfer to Tel Aviv airport for your return flight home.
